● Principle of area flowmeter

How it works

  1. Through the change of the cross-sectional area of the pipe diameter from the bottom to the top of the fluid, the buoyancy of the float, the liquid pulling force, the thrust force and the gravity are mutually balanced to measure the flow rate.
  2. The flowmeter must be installed vertically.
  3. Because of the buoyancy, the specific gravity of the liquid and the float material must be considered.
  4. The difference in shape processing will affect the strength of fluid pulling force and upward thrust.
  5. There is a difference in accuracy between flowmeters with guide rails and those without guide rails. The difference comes from the fact that the finished product of flowmeters with guide rails is just right because of the size of the rails. When the float moves in the flow field, it will not deviate greatly from the axis, so it is more accurate. In contrast, the float of a flowmeter without a guide rail does not move accurately, and is easy to deviate from the axis, and there will be a large range of offset. Therefore, generally speaking, the presence or absence of guide rails does have a relationship with accuracy.
  6. Low-priced flowmeters launched by non-branded or counterfeit factories have rails that are skewed due to rail design and processing problems. In addition, some manufacturers are making chemical-resistant plastic track products. When they leave the factory, the track is obviously skewed, and the skew of the track may easily lead to inaccurate flowmeters.
  7. The main body is made of polymer material, and it is sprayed (formed) by injection, with high precision and small tolerance. Product performance is better than glass tube.
  8. The price of the area flowmeter is carefully evaluated and produced in every detail, and the product is customized for the customer's needs, and it is strictly checked before leaving the factory.
  9. If there is no obvious damage to the flowmeter, problems such as float jumping, abnormal movement, and flow instability occur, most of which are piping problems, and may be abnormal conditions such as pipeline motors and pressure storage tanks, resulting in large changes in flow.
